Blog Your ♥ Out Award

I’ve been nominated for the Blog Your ♥ Out Award by the very witty and beautiful writer of Through the Looking Glass and Down the Rabbit Hole. Her reviews are top notch and her stories of life in Japan are awesome, so there’s no excuse not to go and have a read!

 

With great awards come great questions to answer, so here goes:

1. What/who encouraged you to start blogging?

I can’t really remember if there was a certain point at which I went ‘Oh, I want to start a fashion and beauty blog’… I’d had various kinds of blogs since I was about 15, and I read a lot of different things, so it was a fairly natural thing to do. I think I probably started after getting a bit addicted to YouTube videos (Fleur, Zoella and Essie Button mostly) and thinking that I’d love to have lives like theirs.

2. How did you choose what topic(s) to blog about?

I decided to take a bit of a leap and do something that had always interested me, but had no real relevance to anything else I was doing. It was refreshing to come home after a day in the library and be totally frivolous with my beauty products or a girly outfit! I think I also wanted to show off my slightly-too-large Lush stash.

3. What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I once lost a school spelling bee because the adjudicator didn’t recognise my spelling of ‘encyclopaedia’ (they would only accept ‘encyclopedia’). The other girl’s word was ‘albatross’. Yes, I’m still bitter.

4. What three words describe your style?

Classic, glamorous, feminine.

5. What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
Sleeping, reading, internetting, bathing, playing Skyrim, arranging my Lush products by colour (you think I’m joking).
