November Empties!

It’s that time of the month again. The end of the month. As November trails off and away (where did it go?), I’m rounding up all the empty bottles and tubes from the huge Lush bag in the corner of my room… Yes, it’s empties time again!

This Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash came free with a magazine a few months ago, and I’ve really enjoyed using it (check out my review here). It’s quite a dark citrus, and is actually quite similar, to my nose, to Lush Happy Hippy, which I also used up this month. Both of these have really awesome scents, although they are quite expensive, as shower gel goes (the Balance Me one is £10.25 for 260ml, the Lush one is £6.95 for 250ml). I was less pleased with the This Works Daily Boost Body Scrub, as it smelled awesome, but failed at scrubbing (I reviewed that too!). Continue reading

Review: Balance Me Daily Essentials Moisture-Rich Face Cream

P1040085

I’ve recently made a couple of changes to my skincare routine, and while I’m loving all of it, I thought I’d take the time today to highlight my new night cream: Balance Me Daily Essentials Moisture-Rich Face Cream (the longest product name in the world, surely?). Yet another of my magazine-front treasures from this summer, I initially didn’t like this cream, as I found it too rich and thick for my skin. Now that the weather’s gone rubbish, and my skin needs a bit of extra coddling, I’ve found that I’m really loving the richness of this cream – a little really goes a long way! Continue reading

My Favourite Winter Scarves

P1040033

Since the weather’s taken a turn for the worse, I thought I’d update my favourite autumn scarf post and show you my favourite winter scarves: the scarves I wear when the wind is howling and I can’t quite face going outside! Read on for a rundown of the fluffiest, wooliest, and most stylish winter scarves in my wardrobe! Continue reading

Christmas Wishlist

There’s only one month to go til Christmas! Although that’s still ages, I thought I’d give you all some ideas of what I’m lusting after, to maybe whet your appetite a bit for your own Christmas wishlist…

Christmas Wishlist
This turquoise Zara dress caught my eye while I was shopping with a friend, and I’ve not been able to get it out of my head since then! Surely I need a new Christmas party dress, no?
I’ve been lusting after these black suede Oasis boots for a few months now – I think they’d go so well with so many wintery outfits, and would be a great way to glam up a jumper-skirt-and-wooly-tights ensemble for those inevitable upcoming smart-casual Christmas events…
As you should probably know by now, I’m a sucker for a good scarf, and this pretty oyster pink one from Next has got just enough sparkle to make you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland. It might not be the warmest scarf around, but it doesn’t half look pretty!
One of my favourite perfumes is Nina by Nina Ricci, but it’s very much a summer scent. That’s where Nina L’Elixir perfume comes in: it warms up the sugary-sweet original Nina scent with red berries and amber, and makes it that bit more wintry and magical.
These gorgeous baroque earrings from New Look are actually a bit of cheat, since I already own them, but I think that they’d add the perfect bit of understated glamour to this dress, with the baroque detailing around the neckline.
What’s on your Christmas list?

I ♥ Next!

I was recently invited to attend the Next Blogger Network Workshop in London, which sounded like it was going to be an amazing day, with tons of good information about blogging and a chance to meet some other awesome fashion bloggers. Unfortunately, I was struck down with the dreaded lurgy the night before the workshop, and couldn’t go. I was absolutely gutted to miss out on what I’m sure was a brilliant day.

I was stunned, however, at the sweet response I had from Gemma Glover, one of the organisers of the day, who said she would send me out a goody bag to make up for me missing the event! I was really touched that they’d take the time to do that, even though I couldn’t make the event, and very impressed with the huge parcel that turned up a few days later…  Continue reading

The Very Inspiring Blogger Award

The lovely Sheen over at Golden and Sheen nominated me for an award last week – the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I’m aware I’ve not been too inspiring lately, what with all my huge absence, but nonetheless I’m very flattered, especially since I think she’s so awesome. We met at a blogger meetup earlier this year, and got on really well, so definitely go and check out her blog! Thanks Sheen!

You need to nominate ten other inspiring bloggers, and, you guessed it, think of more facts about yourself! (I think I’ll nominate 5, so I’m focusing on people that really do inspire me – hope that’s okay!). So, on with the facts! Continue reading

Project 10 Pan Take Two!

I’ve been making a real effort to use up my stash of beauty products recently – I’d love to be a bit more minimalist, and certainly not to have a great big storage box of toiletries taking up space! I’ve gotten on really well (you can see my ridiculous number of empties from last month!), but there’s been a few products that just seem to be endless! I’m not entirely sure there’s not a pixie refilling some of these in the night… Anyway, I thought I’d do another Project 10 Pan to make sure I’m using these as much as I can, and show you which products I’m currently trying out!

Review: This Works Daily Boost Body Scrub

P1030967

I recently picked up this travel-sized tube of This Works Daily Boost Body Scrub with RED magazine. This Works is a brand I’ve wanted to try for a long time, and I’ll admit, it’s largely due to the lovely minimalist packaging and the descriptions of the scents, which all sound very luxurious. This scrub says it contains grapefruit and rosemary to stimulate, and tourmaline (the precious stone) to improve blood flow. All very fancy. On using this, I found that there’s one big pro and one big con, so: Continue reading

I’ve Been to the Library!

I’m back! Yes, last week was a false start. I could make all the apologies in the world (I’ve been ill, I’ve been visiting my parents, I’ve been working really hard, I haven’t been taking photos because of poor light, I’ve been to Disneyland) and they’d all be true, but essentially, I’m sorry. I love this blog and I hate that I’ve let it slip out of my hands recently. I’m reprioritizing, and should be bringing you exciting things everyday again soon!

On to the exciting news – I have been to the library (oh, what, you guessed that from the title?). I thought I’d ease myself back into blogging with a quick trip through what I’m looking forward to reading in the next couple of weeks!

Lush Halloween!

Firstly, an apology: I’m sorry I’ve been AWOL. The amount of work I have this term hit me pretty hard and despite my best intentions, it’s been the blog that’s taken the brunt of my tiredness, leaving it pretty bare for the last couple of weeks.

Still, I’m resolved to get back to posting at least four times a week, and to start you off, here are some slightly belated mini reviews of the Lush Halloween products! These should still be around in shops, and are certainly online at lush.co.uk for a little while longer.
