Outfit of the Day: 4th May

This weekend, I took a bit of time out of the hustle and bustle of Oxford, and visited my favourite little escape from the city – a hidden cemetary, where you feel like you’re miles away from everywhere. Some people might find hanging out in a graveyard a bit morbid, but I always find it extremely peaceful and reflective, especially here, with overgrown graves, birdsong, and dappled sunshine. The weather was so beautiful, so I thought I’d soak up the sun in something summery…

This little cream skater dress has a beautiful floaty skirt, which makes it feel really feminine and pretty – I also love the lace at the top. You’ve seen this sheer teal shirt before, because it makes a great throw-on cover-up for many summer dresses, giving you a bit of coverage without being too heavy for a bright day. I tied in the blue accent with a collar necklace and my new Crew wedges, which seriously make my legs look amazing, and then echoed the tan straps with a tan belt – I love the detailing on the belt. Very co-ordinated! Just as a side note, I always find belts are far too long when I wear them at my waist, so I’ve been experimenting with different styles of knotting them. I think it’s cute, and adds interest!

Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as the print on this satchel? I bought it at the weekend after several weeks of lusting after it – a bit of a birthday present to myself. It’s not the sturdiest thing ever, but it’s a great size, and is so pretty that I can’t stop staring at it.

  1. Thought this dress looked familiar, I have it in the coral colour. Love the satchel & the setting for your photos looks beautiful & peaceful xx

  2. I love your dress it’s amazing and the shoes are so pretty with it. It seems a bit weird hanging out in graveyard, but it looks beautiful there and it must be so quite so I can kind of see why 🙂

    • Thank you 🙂 I thought some people might find it weird, maybe I can explain… I think that enjoying the calm and the history of the place is a lovely thing, if it’s done respectfully. I find it so uplifting to think that old overgrown graveyards can become such havens of life and light and peacefulness. In this particular graveyard, which is no longer in use, there are hundreds of tucked-away, moss-covered graves, and the whole place is filled with flowers and wildlife. There’s something beautiful about getting lost in it, rediscovering people’s stories, and just thinking…

  3. Love, love the outfit, sorry I’ve missed so many of your posts, I’m trying my best to blog myself and keep up with my favourite blogs. Love the outfit, and I love wedge heals because they give me height without hurting my feet, right? I never heard of Crew Clothing, so I’m going to check it out now! (the link)

    • Glad you like it! 😀 Crew’s not a brand I would have thought to look at previously, but I was surprised how well some of their stuff fits my style 🙂 These were super comfy for about two hours of constant walking, and then they got quite painful, but I think that’s impressive, I don’t have any heels that would be that comfy that long!

Say hello - it'll make my day!
