Six Tea Shades of Grey

P1040254

It’s been a while since I’ve shown you a tea stash post! My collection is a little less adventurous than previously, as I’ve become a very loyal devotee of grey teas – Earl Grey, Lady Grey, you name it, I’ll drink it. I’ve almost entirely stopped drinking ‘normal’ English Breakfast tea, mostly for practical reasons: I don’t drink enough milk to warrant buying milk all the time, and I don’t like English Breakfast without milk. Grey teas are much nicer to drink black, especially the more exotic variations I’ve been trying recently! Continue reading

A Very Special Giveaway

I did it! I reached 250 followers! I completely missed gaining 200 followers while I was out of the country, so I thought I’d hold on for the big 2-5-0 to celebrate, and you beautiful people did it just in time for another amazing milestone: my one year blog anniversary 😀

Happy birthday to me!

party owlYes, I started blogging on September the 5th, 2012, and although I didn’t really pick things up and get into it until February, nevertheless it’s my blogiversary!

Thank you to each and every one of you who’s helped me discover just what a wonderful experience blogging is. I’m so grateful that so many of you have taken the time to read my ramblings – here’s to many more years!

So, I thought I’d let you guys celebrate a little bit too! You know how when you were a kid you’d bring sweets into class to share on your birthday? Well I’m doing the same, but with beauty things!

prizes

How cool is that little lot? I told you I had something special planned for that other candle in the parcel. JewelCandle were kind enough to send me a Happy Birthday candle to celebrate my blogiversary, and I thought it would be great to share the love! This is the larger size of candle, containing a ring worth up to £250 – and to top it all off, it smells divine. Birthday cake and vanilla, mmm. I wish I could keep this one for myself!

I’ve also added two of my favourite little beauty bits into the prize – the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey, a soft pink that suits most skin tones, and Lush’s Vanillary perfume. Vanillary is the sweetest, comfiest, warmest vanilla scent I’ve ever smelled, and I never fail to get compliments when I wear it – plus it matches the candle! And, well, you all know how much I rave about the JBK Balm Stains… This is probably the one that gets most worn, as it’s such an easy daytime lip.

(The two beauty products pictured are actually my own – I haven’t had a chance to get to the shops to get new ones for you yet! So don’t worry about any marks in the picture.)

NOW THE IMPORTANT BIT.

This giveaway is open to the UK ONLY. It’s going to be a way heavy package, and I can’t afford to be posting heavy stuff all the way around the world. I’m really sorry, international followers – soon, I promise, I’ll be able to afford it!

Also, I know that Rafflecopter doesn’t work too well on WordPress, but it seems to be the easiest way to do this – let me know if there are any issues accessing the widget via this link:

And…. that’s all!

Good luck, and thanks for all the fish (follows)!

Jewel Candles!

I was recently contacted by JewelCandle asking if I’d like to review their candles, my answer to which was a resounding YES! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I absolutely love candles, especially in the autumn, and especially when they’ve got a secret, like these gorgeous ones from JewelCandle!

I was so excited when I opened up my very heavy parcel to see not one, not two, but three little packages! I’m only going to show you two in this post, though – can you guess why? (Answer is at the bottom of the post) Continue reading

The Liebster Award

The beautiful Gillian at Always Unpresentable nominated me for the Liebster Award while I was on holiday, which was a lovely surprise to come back to! I always enjoy Gillian’s posts, and really trust her opinions on products – plus the way she writes makes you feel really comfortable, like talking to a friend. I couldn’t be happier that she chose me for this award!

What you have to do, then, is

  1. List 11 random facts about yourself
  2. Answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated you
  3. Nominate 11 more blogs with 11 more questions. You’re supposed to nominate blogs with fewer than 200 followers (I tipped over that between receiving the award and doing this post!).

So, read on for 11 facts about me: Continue reading

A Few of my Favourite Things

I’m feeling very cheerful in the sunshine, so I just wanted to make a little note of a few little things that I am very excited to have in my life…DSCF0457I’m a massive Patrick Wolf fan – I went to a tiny gig he did in a church in Oxford earlier this year, and managed to swipe his set list, which nearly killed me with excitement!

DSCF0476Boyfriend bought me these beautiful earrings for our anniversary. I’m still impressed that he managed to find rose gold, diamonds and sapphires all together, let alone in such a beautiful design!

DSCF0458My lovely friend Ben painted this awesome TARDIS picture for me last year. It hangs opposite the door of my room, and always makes me smile when I come in.

DSCF0466And finally, I’ve gone a bit Kaylee with my new ball dress – I keep it hanging on the wardrobe (I’ve moved it here for a better picture) so I can stare at it, it’s just so beautiful!
