It’s empties time again, and I’ve only got a small crop for you (well, at least by my usual standards). Shall we get going?
Haircare to start, and there’s a bottle of the usual, Herbal Essences Bee Strong conditioner, which you know that I love (review here), but I also went through a fair amount of other conditioner too! I like the Sainsbury’s Basics Conditioner for finishing off left over shampoo – it’s cheap and it does the job. There are no frills, but I like the plain clean smell, and when you go through as much conditioner as I do, the litre bottle is quite handy. I also changed things up a little and went for Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine conditioner, which is nice but not as weighty as the Bee Strong. Continue reading
I recently found myself in Oxford without any moisturiser at all, can you believe it? I was forced to try some new body butters (what hardship), and ended up buying two! The I Love… range is something that’s caught my eye in Superdrug on several occasions, but I’d never tried anything apart from their lip balm. I ended up buying I Love… Mango and Papaya and I Love… Raspberry and Blackberry body butters, and here’s how they hold up in my book. Continue reading
Now, you know I’m not usually one for body lotions, so when a mere lotion can impress me, it’s gonna be a good one! I wouldn’t normally have picked up the Body Shop Shea Body Whip, so I’m glad I got a chance to try it thanks to my fabulous #Oxmeet goody bag! Continue reading
I can’t believe how quickly the end of February has snuck up on me! I know it’s the shortest month, but still… Even so, I still managed to get through quite a few products this month, so read on to see what I’ve been using!
I got this sample of Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Dark Circle Minimizer when I had my mini-facial at Origins, and I managed to make this tiny sachet last for three weeks. This is an amazing eye cream that really had a lightening effect on my perpetual dark circles, and made me feel confident to wear less concealer! I wholeheartedly recommend it, but since it’s £32 for 15ml, it’s a tad expensive for my budget. Continue reading
I received this pretty little gift set for Christmas – I love NSpa as a brand (and am actually a member of Nirvana Spa, the spa/gym behind the brand), so I was really happy to see this under the tree! The Japanese Spa Rituals gift set contains three travel-sized products with a cherry blossom and rice milk scent, all housed in a gorgeous bubblegum pink wash bag of a very good size that will be perfect for all my trips up and down to Oxford. Continue reading
I’ve never actually done a favourites post before, but why not start now? I’ve been using some products this month that I just want to rave about (even if I’ve done so before), so I’ve wrapped them all up into one simple post!
The cold weather, combined with very hot central heating, leaves my skin completely gasping for a drink! I’ve been slathering The Body Shop Wild Rose hand cream on my hands whenever I can. It’s a nice formula – not as perfect as L’Occitane’s hand cream, but still nice – but what sells it for me is that gorgeous rose scent. It’s lasting without being cloying, and definitely not old ladyish! For more general moisturising, I’ve been liking NSpa Passionfruit body butter – not a very Christmassy scent, I know, but I still like it, and this really does a good job of keeping dry skin at bay. You’ve been a little spoiled with empties recently, what with my double whammy of September products, but luckily for you I’ve still been finishing products left, right and centre. Want to take a look?
All these photos were taken in slightly weird light, so sorry about that! A sneak peek inside my empties bag to start you off… Continue reading
