Review: Caudalie Miel de Vigne Hand Cream* and Nourishing Body Lotion*

Just a quick little review for you today, of some lovely Caudalie bits that I was lucky enough to receive in my #Oxmeet goody bag. I know, I keep going on about #Oxmeet, but it was such an amazing day, and I’ve never seen such generosity from brands! I was particularly excited to get to try the Caudalie Miel de Vigne Hand and Nail Cream*, and the Caudalie Nourishing Body Lotion*, because I’d heard so much about the brand on other people’s blogs. Suffice to say, I now understand what all the hype is about! Continue reading

Review: I Love… Body Butters in Mango and Papaya, and Raspberry and Blackberry

I recently found myself in Oxford without any moisturiser at all, can you believe it? I was forced to try some new body butters (what hardship), and ended up buying two! The I Love range is something that’s caught my eye in Superdrug on several occasions, but I’d never tried anything apart from their lip balm. I ended up buying I Love… Mango and Papaya and I Love… Raspberry and Blackberry body butters, and here’s how they hold up in my book. Continue reading

Review: The Body Shop Shea Body Whip*

Now, you know I’m not usually one for body lotions, so when a mere lotion can impress me, it’s gonna be a good one! I wouldn’t normally have picked up the Body Shop Shea Body Whip, so I’m glad I got a chance to try it thanks to my fabulous #Oxmeet goody bag! Continue reading

Lush Lust List!

In the spirit of Christmas, I think it might be time for another lust list! And of course, what better theme for someone like me than the Lush products I’m currently dying to own..? Not all of these are new, and not all of them are from the Christmas range – several of them I’ve tried before and are definite favourites. My one stipulation for this list was that they were all currently in shops (i.e. not discontinued, or Retro), otherwise it might go on forever! Here’s my current list, in reverse order…

5. Santa’s lip scrub.

I’ll be totally honest with you, I feel like the Lush lip scrubs are a bit of a waste of money. They are literally just sugar, colour and flavouring, and I’ve so far refused to get on board with them. But then, I tried this out in the shop, and oh, my… It tastes like cola bottles, and leaves a teeny tiny bit of colour on your lips, and is basically really lovely. Overpriced? At £5.50 for a tiny pot of sugar, definitely yes. But that doesn’t seem to stop me lusting after it…

Yves Rocher Raspberry Goodies!

A little while ago, I won a giveaway over on Luchessa’s blog! I love Luchessa, she is one of the sweetest bloggers I know and has always been so supportive and friendly – plus her posts are really fun to read. Anyway, she hosted a giveaway a little while ago, and I won! I asked her to send it to my Oxford address, and I was so excited to pick up my parcel when term started…

And with good reason!

Review: Boots Natural Collection Wild Strawberry Body Cream

I picked up this cream completely on impulse in Boots the other day – I’ve always liked the Natural Collection fruit products, and even though the Wild Strawberry doesn’t exactly smell like strawberries, it’s still a gorgeous scent. I’m not going to lie, though, what made me pick this cream up is how it looked. Take a look at these pretty swirly layers!

P1020755

There are two different consistencies to this cream – a red gel and a white cream. It doesn’t stay in its neat swirls for long, and in fact it works better when you mix the two together. Not as pretty, but still pretty cool:

This is a reasonably thick moisturiser, and I find it sinks in quite quickly, although the dual texture does mean that it takes quite a bit of rubbing in to work both textures into the skin. The smell lingers softly on your skin – not enough to interfere with perfume, just enough to catch a scent of it occasionally.

P1020756Overall, this is a really lovely moisturiser for the price (£3.50). It ticks all my boxes – under £5, good smell, nice to apply, and pretty on the shelf! I’d definitely recommend these swirly creams to anyone looking for a nice light body moisturiser – I think I’ll be checking out the Mango and Papaya next!

Do you like the look of this dual-texture cream?

The Battle Of: The Freebie Moisturisers!

Today I’m going to be doing mini reviews of two freebies I received with magazines over the summer – Nip + Fab Dry Leg Fix, with Cosmopolitan in August, and REN Moroccan Rose Body Cream, with Harper’s Bazaar in June. I’ll be ranking them both on several categories, and crowning one my favourite body lotion of the summer!
