We Went To Disneyland!

So, in early November my boyfriend and I had our second anniversary, and, because we’re grown ups, decided to go to Disneyland Paris to celebrate! We had an amazing weekend – the timing meant that although the weather was pretty poor for a lot of the weekend, the parks were nearly empty, and even better than that, everything was Christmas!

I’ve rounded up just a few of the best and most fun photos to show you (to avoid that long boring holiday snaps experience) – we didn’t take any decent cameras, so they’re all slightly lower quality than you might expect! Also, serious warning here: photos may contain a me without make up, after several hours in the rain. You have been warned.

Arriving – we were wowed by the Christmassy entrance!

Boyfriend’s Outfit of the Night!

So you’ve seen what I was wearing – want to see my very handsome boyfriend in his vintage RAF get-up? Of course you do!

Again, please don’t mind the blurry/overexposed photos, it was even darker by this point (although I love the blue lighting in the first photo)! Also ignore the fact that he’s a little bit rained on…

Lovely Boyfriend’s Lush Haul

I had some very exciting news about a job over the weekend, which means I’m temporarily back in Oxford!

I’m going to be working with Oxford Fashion Week on the Ashmolean’s Dress Up LiveFriday evening – I’ll be telling you a bit more about that in the next couple of days, but I’m super excited to be involved, and ever so proud of my little blog for helping me to get the job. In the meantime, check out their blog to keep up to date:

Apparently, lovely Boyfriend is also proud of me, and I arrived back at his house, laden with suitcases, to find a little pile of Lush presents as a congratulations – what a sweetie ๐Ÿ™‚ So what did he get?

A Rosie gift set, and a big chunk of Miranda soap! The perfect pick of old favourites for someone as rose obsessed as me, and something new that I’ve never tried before.

DSCF2566Miranda is a very pretty soap – a creamy pale green with bright fruity chunks set in it. It also smells incredible, with exotic fruits like kiwi and bergamot, but with something beautifully floral (probably the ylang ylang) that keeps it from smelling too much like a fruit salad, and just a touch of creaminess to make this feel really luxurious. I can’t wait to jump in the shower with this – I think it’ll be perfect to combat thatย I-don’t-want-to-wake-upย morning feeling.

I think Rosie might be my perfect Lush gift set, in as much as I could ever choose one! Inside this pretty box is a selection of beautiful rose products:

  • Rose Queen bath bomb
  • Rose Jam bubbleroon
  • Amandopondo bubble bar
  • Ro’s Argan body conditioner

All of these are well-established favourites of mine (I might have gone a bit mad and ordered half a litre of the limited edition Rose Jam shower gel, I love the scent that much) and they all work wonderfully together to create a rosy paradise in your bathroom!

This is such a thoughtful present – I can see lots of thank-you cake getting made in the next couple of weeks!

What would be your dream Lush present?

Asha x

You Shall Go to the Ball! (An Unusual Outfit Post)

Earlier this month, Boyfriend and I went to my college’s ball, which was very exciting, and we had a little photoshoot beforehand thanks to our wonderful friend Ele, of Curious Magpie Photography. Ele took photos of us last year, too, and she is really an amazing photographer – I thought I’d show you how lovely some of these are!

We were lucky enough to have really nice sunshine on the day of the ball, and Corpus Christi gardens made a wonderful backdrop.

IMG_3733What I like about taking photos with Ele is that she really manages to capture us as a couple – there’s some really gorgeous proper portraits, like above, but plenty where we’re laughing or pulling silly faces, and we just really look in love with each other. Continue reading

Valentine’s Day!

So, I’m in the middle of writing an essay, but Boyfriend came round briefly to restock my tea supplies… Since we’re meeting later for dinner, I wasn’t expecting him to bring these:

Aren’t they beautiful? Also, look at the card that he made me ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that he’s sweet enough to do something that personal ๐Ÿ™‚

I really love my boy ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m happy!

I am in an unusually good mood tonight. Here are five things that are making me happy right now.

1. My new dress. It’s exactly what I had in mind for my Belle costume (see below), and also works beautifully on its own for a night out.

2. Camomile tea with apple and cinnamon. This smells like autumn – I love cinnamon, especially with apples, and this makes me feel ready for Bonfire Night and scarves.

3. New boots arriving tomorrow (hopefully to appear in a post of their own tomorrow) from Next. Finally a pair of go-with-everything winter boots!

4. My gorgeous, lovely and wonderful boyfriend, who’s currently being ever so supportive about my play. He never fails to cheer me up if I’m down, so imagine what he does to me when I’m already in a good mood! (Plus he bought dinosaur cookie cutters. I mean, wow.)

5. For the first time all day, I’m warm. It took two pairs of socks and holding a mug of boiling water, but none of my fingers or toes feel like they’re going to fall off.

I hope you’re having as nice a night as I am ๐Ÿ™‚

My weekend in Oxford :)

This is quite a picture-heavy post, sorry. That’s also why it’s Wednesday and I haven’t got round to putting this post up yet!

I usually visit my boyfriend in Oxford at the weekends during the holidays, and ended up combining that this week with a trip to Oxfam’s headquarters for the Oxfam Open House day. A friend of mine interned with them a little while ago, and said I should look into it, as it seemed like my sort of thing; despite my qualms (it seemed like charity work ought to be a vocation), I actually really enjoyed the day and loved the opportunity to have a look around. I really appreciated how open Oxfam was, and the enthusiasm for the business that everyone had.

The lovely Oxfam building.

It helped, of course, that there was such a carnival feeling to the day, with gorgeous sunshine and lots of hands-on activities and displays – they even made me a balloon hat!

Isn’t it gorgeous? One bit of it burst, but hey.

After that, I headed into town to meet up with the boy. Being the mature and excellent adults we are, we watched Doctor Who, went out for ice cream and went to the park.

Boyfriend’s too tall for the monkey bars ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Everyone needs a hi-G coupley photo on a roundabout, right?

Hurrah! We finally managed to coordinate a ‘coming-out-of-the-slide’ photo!

This park is excellent, and quite special to me – we had an after-dark champagne picnic here for our six month anniversary, during which we managed to startle two baby badgers into joining us! No badgers this time, just a few small children, but it was still a pretty fun way to spend a morning ๐Ÿ™‚

All in all, it was a really lovely weekend, filled with fun and usefulness and glorious late summer sun. I love being in Oxford with the boy, and can’t wait to head back up on Friday!
