It’s empties time again, and I’ve only got a small crop for you (well, at least by my usual standards). Shall we get going?
Haircare to start, and there’s a bottle of the usual, Herbal Essences Bee Strong conditioner, which you know that I love (review here), but I also went through a fair amount of other conditioner too! I like the Sainsbury’s Basics Conditioner for finishing off left over shampoo – it’s cheap and it does the job. There are no frills, but I like the plain clean smell, and when you go through as much conditioner as I do, the litre bottle is quite handy. I also changed things up a little and went for Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine conditioner, which is nice but not as weighty as the Bee Strong. Continue reading
So I didn’t do an empties post last month, but I’ve collected plenty of stuff to show you since my last post! I’ve been collecting it all in my cute Oxmeet tote bag from The Blogger Programme – much more stylish to have on the bathroom door handle than a plastic bag! Shall we get going? Continue reading
Well, despite the occasion drop (flood) of rain, we’re well and truly out of winter, and it’s time to switch up my skincare routine a bit! My skin tends to be better the warmer the weather gets, plus I’ve discovered some fantastic new products that have made their way into the regular crowd on the bathroom shelf…
In the morning, I tend to favour slightly lighter products, while I keep a heftier moisturisation up in the evening, but still lighten things up a little. Continue reading
Just a quick little review for you today, of some lovely Caudalie bits that I was lucky enough to receive in my #Oxmeet goody bag. I know, I keep going on about #Oxmeet, but it was such an amazing day, and I’ve never seen such generosity from brands! I was particularly excited to get to try the Caudalie Miel de Vigne Hand and Nail Cream*, and the Caudalie Nourishing Body Lotion*, because I’d heard so much about the brand on other people’s blogs. Suffice to say, I now understand what all the hype is about! Continue reading
I approached The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Moisture Cream with some trepidation, when I was gifted it at #Oxmeet, because I’d previously had quite a bad reaction to their Vitamin E mask. After some careful patch-testing, though, I discovered that this little moisturiser, which is a favourite among bloggers, is actually a very nice light cream which suits my skin extremely well!
I recently found myself in Oxford without any moisturiser at all, can you believe it? I was forced to try some new body butters (what hardship), and ended up buying two! The I Love… range is something that’s caught my eye in Superdrug on several occasions, but I’d never tried anything apart from their lip balm. I ended up buying I Love… Mango and Papaya and I Love… Raspberry and Blackberry body butters, and here’s how they hold up in my book. Continue reading
Everyone has those few products that they are completely loyal to, their Holy Grail items that they are lost without. And if one of them finishes, it’s a nervous rush to Boots to get a new one! Here are my staples – if one of these runs out, then there’s no question I’ll be re-buying it immediately!
No prizes for guessing what the first of my ‘Instant Repurchases’ is: yep, it’s Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo and Conditioner. I’ve barely used anything else since I bought my first bottle, and I’ve repurchased it six or seven times. Something about it just really suits my hair! I won’t bore you by rehashing my original review, so I’ll just leave a link to it (hint: it’s glowing). Continue reading
I’d never thought to add a serum to my skincare routine, let alone a solid serum, until I received this little wonder product in my #Oxmeet goody bag. I’ve been trialling the Lush Full of Grace Serum Bar for the last couple of weeks, and I really like it! Continue reading
Now, you know I’m not usually one for body lotions, so when a mere lotion can impress me, it’s gonna be a good one! I wouldn’t normally have picked up the Body Shop Shea Body Whip, so I’m glad I got a chance to try it thanks to my fabulous #Oxmeet goody bag! Continue reading
I can’t believe how quickly the end of February has snuck up on me! I know it’s the shortest month, but still… Even so, I still managed to get through quite a few products this month, so read on to see what I’ve been using!
I got this sample of Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Dark Circle Minimizer when I had my mini-facial at Origins, and I managed to make this tiny sachet last for three weeks. This is an amazing eye cream that really had a lightening effect on my perpetual dark circles, and made me feel confident to wear less concealer! I wholeheartedly recommend it, but since it’s £32 for 15ml, it’s a tad expensive for my budget. Continue reading
