I think that when we took these photos, it was the prettiest day of the year so far. The boyfriend and I took a walk by the river in the early evening, and the sunshine was so pretty. This is the first time I’ve taken outfit photos with other people around, and it was a little weird, but I think we played it cool…
This is my bag. I love it so much! It’s a pink Radley Aldgate, and it was a present from my parents for my 21st birthday. I’m extremely picky about handbags, so when I decided I needed to get a ‘grown-up’ handbag, I fell pretty hard for this one. I love that it’s got three sections (two zipped and one open), and plenty of pockets, that it’s big enough to put my laptop in, and that it’s got long enough handles to go over my shoulder. I can’t believe I’ve never put it on the blog before! Anyway, read on to see what I carry around with me every day!
There’s only one month to go til Christmas! Although that’s still ages, I thought I’d give you all some ideas of what I’m lusting after, to maybe whet your appetite a bit for your own Christmas wishlist…
This turquoise Zara dress
caught my eye while I was shopping with a friend, and I’ve not been able to get it out of my head since then! Surely I need a new Christmas party dress, no?
I’ve been lusting after these black suede Oasis boots
for a few months now – I think they’d go so well with so many wintery outfits, and would be a great way to glam up a jumper-skirt-and-wooly-tights ensemble for those inevitable upcoming smart-casual Christmas events…
As you should probably know by now, I’m a sucker for a good scarf, and this pretty oyster pink one from Next
has got just enough sparkle to make you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland. It might not be the warmest scarf around, but it doesn’t half look pretty!
One of my favourite perfumes is Nina by Nina Ricci, but it’s very much a summer scent. That’s where Nina L’Elixir perfume
comes in: it warms up the sugary-sweet original Nina scent with red berries and amber, and makes it that bit more wintry and magical.
These gorgeous baroque earrings from New Look
are actually a bit of cheat, since I already own them, but I think that they’d add the perfect bit of understated glamour to this dress, with the baroque detailing around the neckline.
What’s on your Christmas list?
Is anyone else kind of glad that autumn’s crashed in? Autumn is definitely my favourite season to dress for – burgundys, dark greens, teals, browns and greys can creep back into my wardrobe, and so can my amazing collection of boots and scarves! I’ve been longing to put the floaty bird-print things back in the cupboard and return to damask, suede, wool and other heavier prints and fabrics…
Autumn also brings the start of term (although not for another month), and while returning to Oxford doesn’t have the same sort of stationery-fuelled Back To School madness, it does awaken some sort of primal school-start longing for satchels in my heart. I don’t know why. I didn’t ever have a satchel for school!
Today, the combined powers of burgundy, baroque and satchels overcame me, and I just had to bring this little beauty home:
