There’s only one month to go til Christmas! Although that’s still ages, I thought I’d give you all some ideas of what I’m lusting after, to maybe whet your appetite a bit for your own Christmas wishlist…
I say probably, because I’m writing this in advance (shock horror!). If you saw my packing post, then you know that I’ve only taken 7 items of clothing to Malta. So there’s a fair likelihood that this is what I’m wearing today, and if not, then definitely one day this week… However, with the magic of technology, these pictures were actually taken on Tuesday, in thundery, rainy old England!
Skirt: New Look
Necklace: New Look
Now, I am not excessively tall – only 5’6″ – but I find it very hard to get maxi skirts or dresses that fall to the floor and don’t hover tentatively an inch or so above my ankles. This pink silky skirt is the perfect length, but I will warn you that it doesn’t react well to water. Even a spot of clean water will leave a mark. This is actually the second of these skirts I’ve had – after hand-washing the first to get out one of the water spots, it shrunk a good couple of inches, so I took it back and got a new one. I haven’t washed this one yet, because I want to at least get a holiday’s worth of wear out of it! I’ll let you know how I get on, but just a caveat.
I spotted this top in Oasis and fell in love immediately. £16 is a little bit much for a vest top, but student discount helped slightly, and it was just so pretty I had to have it! And the pink matches this skirt perfectly. I also adore this antiqued-gold statement necklace that I picked up in the New Look January sale – every time I wear it I get compliments on it, and it goes with so many things!
So, I may well be wearing this today – what do you think?
I’m feeling very summery and girly today, and although I don’t wear a lot of pink, I’ve utterly fallen in love with this ombre dress from Oasis (£55).
I’ve also lost my big floppy sunhat, and think this hot pink one is fun! I’d accessorise the dress further with jewellery like this – although not these two items, if I wanted to have any money left! I’m very into rose gold jewellery at the moment, and really like the elaborate twists of this ring.
I’m so so excited for the new Burne-Jones Dream collection from A England – pink and red holo polish! All with a beautiful Pre-Raphaelite Sleeping Beauty theme… I can’t wait to try them!
I’d finish my outfit with a spritz of L’Eau de Nina by Nina Ricci, the lighter, summerier version of one of my favourite fragrances, Nina, and flop down in a rose garden with a copy of Wildwood, a beautiful book by the lead singer of the Decemberists – I’m looking forward to this!
For the time being, though, I’ll just stay here and daydream through my essay while everyone else frolicks in the sun…
Bourjois So Laque Nail Polish in Adorableu – I’m still lusting after the perfect cornflower blue polish…
Oasis mint skater dress – this is too expensive for me to buy (£65!) but so pretty.
Milani Face Powder in Beauty’s Touch – look! It’s embossed with roses! I really want this, but I don’t know if you can get it in the UK. (Edit: It’s actually on Amazon here!)
Lush R&B – this hair moisturiser is brilliant for taming dry, fluffy ends, and it smells delicious too.
L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil – I’ve been using my mum’s bottle of this on my hair while damp, and I really think it made a difference to the shininess of my hair.
Debenhams blue patent court shoes – I adore these. I stroke them every time I go in Debenhams. I can’t quite bring myself to shell out £45 for them though… I’m a size 7, if anyone’s feeling generous!
What are you lusting after this week? I’ve only got one week to go on my spending ban, which means only one week til my birthday! I’m getting excited!
