So I didn’t do an empties post last month, but I’ve collected plenty of stuff to show you since my last post! I’ve been collecting it all in my cute Oxmeet tote bag from The Blogger Programme – much more stylish to have on the bathroom door handle than a plastic bag! Shall we get going? Continue reading
Everyone has those few products that they are completely loyal to, their Holy Grail items that they are lost without. And if one of them finishes, it’s a nervous rush to Boots to get a new one! Here are my staples – if one of these runs out, then there’s no question I’ll be re-buying it immediately!
No prizes for guessing what the first of my ‘Instant Repurchases’ is: yep, it’s Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo and Conditioner. I’ve barely used anything else since I bought my first bottle, and I’ve repurchased it six or seven times. Something about it just really suits my hair! I won’t bore you by rehashing my original review, so I’ll just leave a link to it (hint: it’s glowing). Continue reading
I’ve never done a Face of the Day post before, but I was really pleased with my make up yesterday, and since I appear to have gone up a Blogger Level and gained the ability to take not-awful photos of my own face, I thought I’d show you! This is a very pink-based look, because I wanted to add a bit of colour to my normal revision look (ie, boring). Continue reading
Until quite recently, I’ve been a teenage girl, and the one thing that you should all know about teenage girls is that they accumulate make up like nobody’s business! This seems to happen especially if it’s cheap or on sale… Thing is, I now have a lot of much nicer make up that I actually like to use a lot more, and so I’m having a bit of a “spring clean” of my make up bag. Continue reading
Week Three already! Have you seen weeks one and two of the Starting Off Project? This is an excellent blog series thought up by Steph over at Steph’s Inside Voice, so have a read of my posts, then head off to look at some of the other girls’ posts!
This week, we’re discussing our foundations. I don’t have a large amount of experience with foundation, having worn the wrong colour and type for my skin until about six months ago, but anyway… here’s my views on foundation.
As with concealer, if you have flawless skin (which some of you undoubtedly will), you don’t need to bother. Foundation covers up any imperfections in your skin and creates a more even skin tone, hopefully giving you the perfect skin you longed for! Continue reading
While I was packing up my room at the end of term, I took the opportunity to go through a lot of my stuff and get rid of a lot of things. One of the areas I tackled was my rather large nail polish collection!
I forced myself to be quite realistic and get rid of anything that I never wore or always took off straight after applying (does anyone else do this?). I admitted to myself that I don’t like bright pink nail polish, or glitter in a clear top coat, and despite the prettiness of the bottles, cleared those out too. Now all my polish fits in one box (with the exception of A England, which I will never cull, and which I’ll show my collection of another day). Continue reading
I’m at home! I’ve left the dreaming spires behind for some real dreaming (ie, sleeping like the dead for a week to make up for term time). And of course, since leaving Oxford feels like leaving civilisation, I did some shopping before I came down. And then found some more beauty bits waiting for me. And then did a little bit of book shopping once I got home.
I’m going to be putting myself on an unnecessary beauty spending ban for July, while I save up for a ticket to Green Man festival in August, so these are the last few bits and bobs I’ll be getting for a little while.
Today, then, I’ll show you my haul from Superdrug. Tomorrow, it’ll be what I stocked up on from Lush. Saturday, you can see what was waiting for me when I got home, and then on Sunday, for the Book Nook, my book buys.
This is thanks to running out of powder, looking for an alternative to Lush’s Aqua Marina, and a tempting Bourjois offer…
Yes, I got sucked in by the blogger hype. I picked up three colours of the Rimmel Apocalips in a 3 for 2 deal from Tesco a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to give them a proper test out before I reviewed them, as my feelings towards them have flip-flopped about!
Top to bottom: Apocaliptic, Big Bang, Galaxy
I bought Big Bang, a bright scarlet, Apocaliptic, a bright fuchsia pink, and Galaxy, a muted purple-pink. Continue reading
