So, I was a very lucky girl on my birthday, and was given lots of awesome Lush bits to keep me pampered through the exam period… I thought I’d show you what I got! (Quick disclaimer – I definitely don’t mean to brag, I’m just excited to have new Lush stuff!) Continue reading
Christmas has begun! I met up with a lovely friend this weekend, and we swapped presents – imagine how excited I was to see her pull out this big glittery box… This is the Fab Christmas box from Lush, which has 12 girly products from the Christmas and regular Lush lines. This box is unashamedly princessy! Want to take a look at what’s inside?
So, Oxford has this horrible tradition of setting you exams four days after the start of term, to check you’ve been working over the holidays. So that’s why I’ve been a tiny bit quiet!
I finished my last exam on Saturday at lunchtime, and after grabbing a bite to eat, I leapt into the bath to unwind from all those hours at my desk…
I resorted to my old favourite, Rose Jam bubble bar from Lush, for a really comforting scent, and whacked on some Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask in case my skin felt a bit stressed. Teamed with a cup of Twinings Rose Garden tea and the second book in the Temeraire series, Throne of Jade, I had a wonderfully relaxing hour completely free of all exam stress!
Just a short post today, but I have plenty coming up in the next few days, so don’t worry, I am back!
Oh, if you had any idea how much I just wanted to write “THE BEST THING EVER. JUST GO. GO BUY IT. NOW.” rather than a full review… You are being warned, this will probably be excessively gushing and full of superlatives. Because Rose Jam shower gel is incredible!
Oh my gosh. Where to begin? Okay, let’s keep this simple, with bullet points. Continue reading
I’ve been shopping quite a bit over the last few days – cocktails with the Oxford Fashion Week team, a ‘Persian harem’ themed party and a few moments of pure indulgence have led to a pretty good haul, and a fairly random one! Continue reading
I had some very exciting news about a job over the weekend, which means I’m temporarily back in Oxford!
I’m going to be working with Oxford Fashion Week on the Ashmolean’s Dress Up LiveFriday evening – I’ll be telling you a bit more about that in the next couple of days, but I’m super excited to be involved, and ever so proud of my little blog for helping me to get the job. In the meantime, check out their blog to keep up to date:
Apparently, lovely Boyfriend is also proud of me, and I arrived back at his house, laden with suitcases, to find a little pile of Lush presents as a congratulations – what a sweetie 🙂 So what did he get?
A Rosie gift set, and a big chunk of Miranda soap! The perfect pick of old favourites for someone as rose obsessed as me, and something new that I’ve never tried before.
Miranda is a very pretty soap – a creamy pale green with bright fruity chunks set in it. It also smells incredible, with exotic fruits like kiwi and bergamot, but with something beautifully floral (probably the ylang ylang) that keeps it from smelling too much like a fruit salad, and just a touch of creaminess to make this feel really luxurious. I can’t wait to jump in the shower with this – I think it’ll be perfect to combat that I-don’t-want-to-wake-up morning feeling.
I think Rosie might be my perfect Lush gift set, in as much as I could ever choose one! Inside this pretty box is a selection of beautiful rose products:
- Rose Queen bath bomb
- Rose Jam bubbleroon
- Amandopondo bubble bar
- Ro’s Argan body conditioner
All of these are well-established favourites of mine (I might have gone a bit mad and ordered half a litre of the limited edition Rose Jam shower gel, I love the scent that much) and they all work wonderfully together to create a rosy paradise in your bathroom!
This is such a thoughtful present – I can see lots of thank-you cake getting made in the next couple of weeks!
What would be your dream Lush present?
In the face of all the hype about Nivea’s new In-Shower Moisturiser, I thought I’d take the opportunity to review what, in my opinion, is the best in-shower moisturiser of all, Lush’s Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner.
This is absolutely beautiful. Ro’s Argan is a thick pink cream, slightly lighter than body butter consistency (mine has gone a little thinner due to the leaky shower which ruined my Rub Rub Rub), which you smooth over yourself in the shower after washing, and rinse off. It contains all sorts of fabulous butters and oils, including the much-hyped argan oil, and feels really smooth and good on your skin. Continue reading
